BONNIE CRONIN: Naturopathic Doctor, Homeopath, Acupunturist. BS in Biology from Northern Michigan University; Naturopathic Doctorate from Bastyr's University in Seattle; mastery of Acupunture while studying Naturopathy.

After Dr. Bonnie Cronin lived in the Great Lakes area of Northern Michigan, she longed to live lake-side again. So when she came to interview for a residency at The Springs of Clifton, it was perhaps fate. "The area drew me in," she says. "It felt like home the minute I got here. We stayed at a bed and breakfast, drove around Canandaigua lake and went skiing and fishing - everything was right here." The area is perfect for her, she states, because, "I like to have nature close."

As the youngest of four children, she was a peacemaker as a child; she wanted everyone to be happy. In a way, she's still doing that; only now, she's doing it professionally. She meets with patients daily, assisting them to find wellness, thus making peace with their state of health and finding happiness.

She discovered homeopathy and naturopathy while in under-grad. The program was intense, with all the basic sciences including immunology, physiology, anatomy, even working in the cadaver lab. Cronin admits it was extremely challenging as she balanced a staggering thirty-three credits a quarter. In her last year, Cronin's father passed away. She'd taken six weeks off to take care of him at home and she says it was at that time that she knew her heart was in medicine. She resolved to master her chosen path, passionate about the philosophy of really finding the cause of people's problems and not just focusing on the symptoms. "When something is out of balance in the body, and we find the imbalance, we bring the system back into harmony. Then the symptoms resolve themselves," she states.

Currently she works one day each week at Clifton Springs Hospital and four days in her own Canandaigua office. Clients are finding her word of mouth, and her practice is growing by leaps and bounds. "My goal is to get [patients] feeling good so I don't have to see them very much."

She loves her work and it shows. She says, "I love the relationships I form with people I see and work with. I love motivating [them] to make positive changes in their lives so they can get better. By doing some small things, often a profound effect can happen." Recently she has successfully treated menopausal symptoms, fibromyalgia, headache, chronic fatigue syndrome, high blood pressure, auto immune disorders, arthritis and more.

Her future is set, for now. She plans to continue to live and practice in Canandaigua. The area is perfect for her she says, because, "I like to have nature close." And we're happy to have her close by.

Her office is located at 343 North Main Street, suite 104, Canandaigua, New York 14424. Contact Dr. Cronin at (585) 394-3490 or visit her web-site at www.drbonniecronin.com.
